Each year, CIVIC Freshman Reps organize workshops open to the Tufts community on valuable civic engagement skills. Participants have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, engage and network with Tufts alumni, and connect with peers who are equally passionate about civic issues.

CIVIC organized its first annual workshop, Op-Ed Writing, in 2016. In partnership with Tisch College, CIVIC hosted a panel of distinguished guests: Bruce Mohl of CommonWealth Magazine, Joan Vennochi of the Boston Globe, and Bob McGovern of the Boston Herald. Following the panel was a writing workshop with Tufts Professor Neil Miller.

In 2018, CIVIC held another workshop, How to Run for Office. Team building exercises introduced participants to the strategies for running a successful campaign. Then participants heard from a panel of Tufts alumni: MA State Rep Tram Nguyen, ME State Senator Cathy Breen, Melrose School Committee Member Jen McAndrew, and Campaign Organizer Ben Hoffman.
